A car can be transported by sea, by road, or via a combined route. The choice depends on the destination city, shipping schedules, cost, restrictions and whether transshipment is required.

The cheapest route is not always the best. Additional terminals, long waiting times and multiple contractors increase the risk of delays. When comparing offers, it is important to clarify the final delivery point and the list of services included.

Documentation before shipment

For export you need the vehicle documents, proof of purchase, export clearance and transport documents. The exact set depends on the mode of transport and the requirements of the receiving party.

VIN, the buyer’s name and the vehicle’s specifications must match across all documents. It is better to correct any errors in Dubai before loading: after dispatch this may take longer and result in additional costs.

What the delivery cost includes

The calculation may include movement of the vehicle within the UAE, export documents, port services, freight, insurance, broker fees and delivery to the customer’s city. For a non-running vehicle there may be additional loading expenses.

When requesting a price, you must clarify whether terminal charges at the destination are included. Comparing two figures without the same list of included services is meaningless.
